We want to thank our customers for being so supportive to us! We had a very difficult 6 months negotiating space in our area through no fault of our own. We will be moving to 390 5th Ave which is 200 ft east of our building on 36th street.
The decision to stay in the Garment District was extremely important to us. While CJS is a destination location, our customers enjoy the convenience of a Manhattan location; convenient for our domestic customers and certainly for our international customers. Additionally, many enjoy being able to time their visit to CJS in conjunction with trade shows and/or vacations in Manhattan. We respect our customers greatly and do not want to inconvenience them the imposition of additional travel to other boroughs and/or states. As such, we decided to take less space and pay premium for the rent in order to afford our customers the convenience of being in the center of Manhattan – which we feel is still a dynamic important Fashion Center with a street scene that would be hard to duplicate anywhere else. For these reasons we feel that CJS Sales, a designer quarry, has to be located here in the Garment District.
We are looking forward to seeing you all in our new location. We will be at our 16W 36th St location through the end of July and will be moving over to the new location throughout the month of July. [Carl is going fishing June 12-June 16 and CJS will be closed for Carl’s Fishing Trip]. Our new space is smaller than our current space so not all out treasures can make the move with us. Our moving sale to reduce inventory will be on throughout July or until we have moved snugly into our new space!
